I have been involved in change consultancy for just over 10 years now.

The first 6 years of my life were spent in a caravan on top of Box Hill in Surrey. My mother left us for whatever reason, then my father, two sisters and I moved into a council house in Dorking. I lived there until I was 25 years old, scraping by at school with some modest CSE’s and completing an apprenticeship in engineering.

 

At 24 I met a Cornish girl in my local pub in Surrey, after a whirlwind romance of two months we were engaged. We saved up and bought out first house in Crawley Sussex and got married within the year. A year later we moved to Cornwall with our newly born son. I worked at a Pneumatics manufacturing company working day and night shift for the next 8 years. In that time our second son was born. After 26 years of not seeing my mother we tracked her down and organised a reunion.

 

I studied with the Open University for a degree and put in for promotion at work. My career moved very quickly within the company. In quick succession, I became Production Engineer, Chief Engineer, Logistics Manager and finally Lean Manufacturing Manager. We spent 12 happy years in Redruth, Cornwall. However I had been with the same company in all that time and wanted something a bit more challenging. The opportunity to join Rolls Royce came along, so we sold the house and the whole family moved to Derbyshire.

 

 I spent two years with Rolls Royce, then most recently five years with RWD starting as a consultant and developing to Principal Consultant. In this time as a consultant I have become a professional coach. These skills have significantly changed my life.

 

In April 2004 my wife and I bought an unprofitable delicatessen business. This venture is part time for me (Free consultancy for my wife!) and full time for my wife. After two years we are making 12% net profit and sales are up by 32%. I have a happy wife (20 years wed) and two happy, healthy sons. My full time role is offering a variety of services based on my core skills and experience in the private and corporate world.
