High praise for Problem Solving Workshop

22/07/2011

A customised one day practical problem solving workshop was delivered last month. The client wanted to adopt a methodology that was easy to understand and could be used straight away on real life workplace problems. A case study was used and delegates role played typical functions and attitudes to solving problems. Then they worked through the problem using A3 practical problem solving methodology and:

  • Followed DMAIC
  • Worked as a team
  • Practiced the use of 7 quality tools (Check sheets, Pareto, Ishikawa, Histograms, Control Charts, process maps and scatter diagrams)
  • Used the 5 Why technique
  • Established root cause
  • Identified containment and countermeasures
  • Understood the need for PDCA to ensure new standards are embedded.

Quotes:

"Came into it quite sceptical but thought it was an excellent day, very informative"

"We will use straight away on our large issues"

"Proven to be a very useful toolkit"

"It was good and concise"

"Great day, very helpful and thank you"

"Very useful"
